Caden Hackett Tosses No Hitter to put Flyers in Semi-Finals

Nicholas Doud

Caden Hackett's fastball had a little extra zip on it as he willed his team to victory against #1 seed Tri-Town Warhawks on Sunday morning to put the Duneland Flyers 10u into a Semi-Final rematch against the West Englewood Tigers.

Hackett overpowered the Warhawks lineup the whole day keeping them off the scoreboard and with the exception of 2 walks, kept them off the bases too. Caden threw 5 inning on just 75 pitches, allowing no hits, 2 walks while striking out 11 batters. Hackett's fastball was too much for the Warhawks, and he threw just enough off speed pitches to keep them off balance.

The offense backed their pitcher by putting 11 runs on the board on 8 hits and 7 walks. Three of those hits were triples. Duneland Flyers won the game by mercy rule, 11-0.
